Question: First there was religion, then there was science, what will be next!?

Humans used to explain most things with religion, then science came along and people sought answers from that, what will people come up with after science!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First there were questions and the answer lead to more questions!.
That is the pattern!.
Religion functions as a way to pass on cultural values and traditions!.
Science functions as a systematic way to organize and qualify knowledge about what we observe!.
The process is normative but the application is descriptive so that the descriptions can change as new observations are made!.
Religion seeks to dominate the ethical reasoning of a culture and deistic religions do that by maintaining that divine law is a normitive system, non theistic religions tend to focus more on a way to transcend our subjective terms concerning ethical issues that we can be free from the conflicts that result so they are relavistic such as buddhism or toaism!.
Then you have religions that worship nature that tend to maintain that to be ethical humans must form a harmonius relationship with the cycles of nature!.
Sceince and religion are two seperate branchs though have crossed paths in the past niether can be said to have been any more the result of the other!.
science will probably remain unless we elvolve into creatures that are very objective about the information we encounter at which point we would probably not be seeking that information to form rational constructs but simply to increase some other function of proliferation of our kind!.
So the two are comparable in that they both seek to maintain abstract constructs (one as a description of nature the other as a description of ethics) it would not be accurate to say that exists as a result of the other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If history has taught us anything - it's that things seem to repeat themselves;

As of the present, our future questions about ourselves and our surroundings will be answered by science - but eventually, our scientific progression will plateau, and thus people will return to looking for answers using philosophy (ie!. Religion) until of course, science once again, progresses!.

lol!. No science is fact!. People can make up as many cute little stories as they like to explain things but science is fact!. It has existed since the dawn of man (inventing fire and the wheel etc - all science)!. It existed before religion did and will continue to exist until the end of time!. Fact doesn't just cease!.
