No!. Whales beaching themselves is a non-human example!. I think there is uncertainty about way exactly they do it, but I have heard that one theory is that it is intentional suicide!.

Yes,it is!.Animals are there to survive,eat,sleep,mate and defend in everyway they can!.An animal's goal is to achieve it's self pleasure,and there is no difference between success and failure,it's because their success and their failure is what determines whether they live or die!.

Humans are the only species on Earth that knows the extent of their failure,and what the costs of that failure are,humans are the only ones that know what a 'hopeless' situation is,and when 'it's all over'!.Humans are the only ones on Earth that can have emotions like that!.

In the horrible event where a human kills an ant,no matter how hopeless,the ant will try to survive with every single limb it still has!.A human would know its hopeless!.But it varies from person to person!.A human trained for survival will try to beat the odds,another human might know they are screwed from the start,and understand the horror of a situation!.

its such a loaded question, and i'm gonna give an uneducated thought!. (sorry) My whole life, I've been told that if you died in a room with your cat, it would eat you after awhile in order to survive!. If you died in a room with your dog, the dog was likely to starve to death with you out of loyalty!. Maybe the dog is more honorable in our minds, but the cat seems more of a survivor!. Evolution is survival of the fittest, so maybe every weakest link that is weeded out is a form of suicide in a way!. I dont believe it exclusive to humans!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, though the reasoning behind it would likely be different!. Animals may commit suicide to put themselves out of physical pain, or may unintentionally kill themselves, like someone else said, about the monkey refusing to eat!. I define suicide as a deliberate choice to terminate his own life!. That said, I believe suicide is exclusive to human beings!.
