Inquisitiveness is common to all animals(as these can be observed)!. It is a natural behavior due to which one has the tendency to explore his/her environment!. One of the major outcomes of the evolved human mind is our ability to assess our surroundings and to converse using our clearly developed ability to speak!. As a result of this we do utilize this capability of ours, with or without language, to try and quench our thirst for knowledge regarding whatever we see or observe around us by asking questions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In my view, the right reason is curiosity or inquisitiveness!.!.!.!. we ask in order to either know about what we have asked or to know more about the answerer or simply to confirm what we think we know!.!.!.!.!.!.!. at the bottom of this desire to know it all is the instinctive fear of the unknown!.!.!. we are uncomfortable with any unanswered questions!.!.!.!.!. that is why we keep repeating key questions like 'meaning of life' or 'beginning of it all' etc!. etc!.!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh! There is a sub-conscious 'desire' to become alive to life as much as possible!. Asking questions gives us that tremendous psychological re-assurance!. The search, the quest, the seeking and the satisfaction of getting answers etc happen to be equally satisfying, though relatively consequential!.
The inner being seeks expansion of itself!.
A child pours out an un-ending stream of questions, to a willingly receptive person around, and we can see this when we look into the eyes of that child when the question is shot, in all intensity, sincerity, and involvement!Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many reasons:
a) We are curious about it
b) We want to check how much do people know about it, if at all they know abt it
c) we ask because we can satisfy our hunch/query if ppl answer it
d) We can satisfy our ego if ppl cannot answer our question!.

And last reason!.!.
"why" and "how" !.!.!. these words are programmed in our minds by God Almighty!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Obviously as others suggest, to LEARN!. In asking, and hopefully learning, we can acquire knowledge!. Hopefully knowledge can become wisdom!.

I believe there is another side to asking!. I can call it "Doubt"!.

We ask, usually out of ignorance, even if we won't admit to it!. BUT,,, we also ask to attempt debunking at times, or seeking other opinions!. I can offer hundreds of analogies, but I'll serve up just one!. In asking,,, what we often get back, are Opinions, not always strictly facts, and who determines what FACT is anyway!?

YOU ask me for directions for getting from here to there!. Hopefully I have experienced the journey, and will offer you an honest opinion!. I tell you, my own notion of a route you can take!. Certainly there could be a dozen ways to get to "B" from "A"!. I gave you my direction, based on experiences!. Might I offer alternatives!? SURE!. Might you disbelieve me, and seek alternatives!? SURE!.
