Question: I want to read Of Mice and Men because I posed a question earlier about a novel that talked about friendship !.

I am an intelligent man and I have been up all night and yes, I am going to buy the book!.

I have read a couple of synopses online but I just don't get it

The two protagonists have a close bond!. George has been looking out for the simple,childish yet overly strong Lennie for ages!. He takes care of him, translates the world into terms that Lennie can understand, and when Lennies ignorance leads him to accidentally kill a woman, George goes away with Lennie and, knowing what Lennies fate will be if he is caught, gives him their underlying dream to think of and then kills Lennie whilst he is enjoying this thought!. He wants to spare Lennie the horrors of what the others would do do him, and gives Lennie as quick, painless and even happy a death as his friend could wish for!. In the instant he kills Lennie he knows that he is in a way betraying his friendship at the same time as doing a mercy, it also marks the end of their dream of having their own farm!. In the final mercy killing George is destroying his friend and himself in order to spare his friend the pain and horror of a death he wouldnt even be able to comprehend!.
Simply George takes care of Lennie with calmness patience and fortitude, sticking by him no matter what and trying to translate the world into terms Lennie can understand until he finally has to end Lennies life to spare him even more pain from a world he doesnt understand, and which is unwilling to understand him!.

its a short book easily read!. I read it and got it when I was fourteen - You will too!. rafaels answer said it really good!.
it is a bittersweet story of loving friendship and poses lots of questions but leaves you feeling complete at the end as two simple hearted men doing their best in a world not designed for either of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
