Question: Who here believes that our society demeans your very existence!?
It just seems like to me (It doesn't mean it's true, it's a theory) that our society demeans my very existence or my importance!. There is no such thing as being important anymore!. If I was to die, no one would care!. They would all carry on like nothing happened!. I'm not going to kill myself so don't think that!. Please, elaborate on your response!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A despairing sense of non existence or a lack of any importance casts man into a pit of nothingness!. He is consumed and consumes and remains a void!.

Release your soul the need for recognition from a people themselves in need!. To gain what you feel you desire, you are required to compromise your being, bow to others as needy as you, to find that what you sought was within you and in your own hands!.

It is a fools journey!. Letting go, relinquishing desire for supercilious repulsion of a compelling need that wanes as an all too transient passing candle upon a birthday cake obviating ones non progression in the passing hand of time!.

Look without yourself, observe!. The want and helplessness in others, their dreams and unrealized aspirations!. You will then see you are indeed another face in a multitude of blank expressionless faces!.

Detach your mind and focus upon the positive and strong within you!. The beauty and goodness in your life will nourish your inner peace, the angst and woe invariably augments a desperate sense of helplessness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Altruism is the problem -

"Even though altruism declares that “it is more blessed to give than to receive,” it does not work that way in practice!. The givers are never blessed; the more they give, the more is demanded of them; complaints, reproaches and insults are the only response they get for practicing altruism’s virtues (or for their actual virtues)!. Altruism cannot permit a recognition of virtue; it cannot permit self-esteem or moral innocence!. Guilt is altruism’s stock in trade, and the inducing of guilt is its only means of self-perpetuation!. If the giver is not kept under a torrent of degrading, demeaning accusations, he might take a look around and put an end to the self-sacrificing!. Altruists are concerned only with those who suffer—not with those who provide relief from suffering, not even enough to care whether they are able to survive!. When no actual suffering can be found, the altruists are compelled to invent or manufacture it!."

There are some things about it that do make me feel that I'm just an economic slave, yeah!. (Cannon fodder, too, if I were a young man!.) Why is that!? Oh yeah !.!.!. I am one !.!.!.

I'd love to elaborate, but I'm afraid I'd either start rambling about technology and media and postmodernity towards no thought-out conclusion, or else I'd start waxing opaque on the question of what is really the source of a dignified existence, and can society really demean it !.!.!. I dunno!. It's too late at night to get started, but I think I see what you're talking about!. Interesting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!.!. I mean I do think that, it seems only the rich and famous are important!. But dont let that stop you, be who you are and do the best you can no matter who thinks your important or who dont!.

I mean we all die!.!. its a sad thing but we cant stop it so i dont understand why everyone is so surprised by it all the time!. I dont think people should worry about who will be sad or who will care beause your going to be dead, so you never know whats going to happen anyways!.
some people believe in god, some believe in reincarnation!.!. just whatever it is!.!. oh well!.!. your dead =O

But society does downplay individualism a lot and the worth of a 'normal' person because thats all we are to the so called important people!.
but dont worry we all important so screw the man =DWww@QuestionHome@Com

a man is unimportant only if he has no friends, no family, nobody to love and nobody that loves them!. You are only unimportant if you are completely alone!. the very thing you think demeans you is what gives you value in the first place!. Without society or a social life of some kind you might as well be a wild animal roaming around waiting to breed and die!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can think of a counter example!. In our (American) society, life is important, you get ambulance for every little thing that happens to you!. Look at Darfur, the value of life there is not as important!. I think Americans emphasize on importance of life a lot more than any other culture!. Death is looked down upon on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
