Question: Can anyone explain Aristotle's belief of Eudaimonia!?
I have to write an essay concerning what I am doing to make my life more meaningful and fulfilling, am I a good person, what I am doing to make myself better, and how does Eudaimonia fit into your life!? I have no idea what to write about for this, can someone explain Aristotle and Eudaimonia and the "Good Life" better, and perhaps give me an idea of something to write about for how this fits in my life, just to get me going!? I don't understand what they mean by this!. 10 points to most helpful answer!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eudaimonia means 'flourishing" or "happiness" and it is related to the concept of virtue!. There are three basic conceptions of what ethics are about!. One view points to duty as the basis of morality(you know what's right: do it!); another concentrates on the consequences of your actions (one can do a good thing even with the worst of motives) and the third focuses on developing virtues--good habits!.The idea being that if you have these virtues you will flourish and be happy!. So, brush you teeth before you go to be tonight, get a good night's sleep, and work on that essay tomorrow!.!.!.just kidding (sort of)!. A good place to get more information is the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
