Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Just look at Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, early Catholicism and many, many others!. Those places or religions do not see a separation of church and state!. To them, one goes with the other and is inseparable!. That is why Iraq has such intense problems!. The Sunni and Shiite Muslims each want control over the state!. They are willing to sacrifice their own in suicide bombing and terrorist acts that do nothing but fuel the fire and harm innocent people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Religions are certainly capable of controlling a state, or also influencing it to various degrees!. However, such a controlled state is not truly free unless it respects the right of it's non-religious or other religious citizens to live as they will with no consequences or enforced religious laws!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Some claim so but I don't believe----er---well, don't have faith on such religious institutes!. If you are referring to the US, there are many religions that would like to control the state!.
