Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: For those who are in power!. And those who are in power are not in the limelight of politics nor otherwise!. They are the one percent that holds ninety-nine percent of the wealth! We are in ignorance for their benefit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Those in power do it all the time to keep their hold over others!. For revealing all may weaken their position!. For centuries the low-caste (Shudras, as they were called) people in India were deprived of education by high-caste Brahmins!. Learning Veds was prohibited (even punished) in those time for it would have 'opened' the eyes of shudras & slackened the Brahmins hold!. They would no longer be able to keep people cowed down by citing Veds & God's Will as the reason to get done what they wanted!. Now of course times have changed and education is no longer the privilege of the chosen few!. But, sometimes there's a vital need to hide facts from people so as to maintain law & order, not create unnecessary panic, till the situation is under control!. Discretion is required to judge when to hide and when to reveal all!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If someone is ignorant, shouldn't he or she bear responsibility for that!? Nobody can be "kept in ignorance!." It is a choice, basically just a common form of negligence!.
