I don't know if you are in an advanced philosophy course or not!. If you are, then the following may be easier to follow!.

Kripke taught us that though a claim like the one you put forward can be understood, it need not be true (if color/blue truns out to be a natural kind)!. See the 3rd lecture in particular!. However, 2 dimensionalists would disagree with him and say that it may also be true!.

As I said, the answer requires a grounding in some philosophy courses!. But, to answer your question in short - yes, we can offer parallels and can comprehend such seemingly inconsistent ideas!.

Another, and a very simplistic way to approach the solution is to think of blue/color in two different ways - one, the way we (as ordinary humans) think about/experience color/blue and the proper analysis/definition of blue/color forwarded by the scientists!.

Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it means that if everything was the same, then any differences would not exist!. If the world really was blue, we would not know any colours because all we would see was blue- a normal thing for us!. I think it also may mean that if all of us were the same- there would not be any individuality and everyone would be the same!. We would not be able to show our true colours and stand out!. :/Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes if everything was the same colour there would be no such thing as colour to those who live there because nothing is different!.

for some some who has been blind all thier life thet cant know what colour is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
