Question: Are we destined to become our parents!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes, its an environmental anomaly!. We teach our children what we have been taught!. And we tend to use the same words of instruction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would be far more concerned with having to become a parent with no one else as a role model to draw upon!. Sure none of us can choose our parents!. But we all do have a choice on how much of what they teach us, that we allow ourselves to be influenced by!. In other words, draw from their example but also remain open to learn from other sources!. Hopefully the end result will be an open minded improved parent for your own children to in turn draw upon for guide lines and boundaries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wordsworth told " child is the father of man"!. but we are simply the clones/replica of our parents but due to the change of environment, progress of science and economic up or down (opposite of parents'time) we appears to be different!.Further the people arond us also alter our character making it different and the level of education we have and they had make the difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Parents usually are an example to their kids, like it or not!. This doesn't mean that we'll necessary follow their mistakes, we might even recognize their mistakes which will eventually make us better!. But I think we will look a lot like them!. It's nature!.We have their DNA and their behaviour as an example (usually) so the odds are we will be a lot like them!. However this doesn't mean our life, our jobs and our mistakes will be the sameWww@QuestionHome@Com

I always worried about this!.!.!.the parents I was raised by (dad and stepmom), I think I have tried everything in my power to NOT become!. My dad was never around!.!.!.!.work, coaching, meetings!.!.!.I remember I used to fake having bad dreams just to be able to see him when he came home at 11pm everynight!. And I was lucky if I saw him on the weekends because he coached a couple baseball teams!. So, I was left to be raised by my stepmother who put me down about everything! So, with raising my two boys!.!.!.I decided to be a stay-at-home mom so they never have to feel the loneliness I felt when missing my dad (and my real mom who I was only allowed to see on the weekends!.) And I praise them, kiss them, hug them everyday!.!.!.so they never feel the loss of self-worth that I felt from my stepmother!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

take what your parents taught you and better it when you are raising your own!. you will have some features of your parents cos well theyre your parents!. there are things that my parents did that i wouldnt want on my child!.sometimes its hard to break the mould because its how you were raised but it takes a matter of catching on and changing it to a degree that makes you happy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For the past 2 generations my Father's side of the family has been easy to anger and prone to ignorance!. I have finally broken the cycle by raising my son in a peaceful environment, filled with love and acceptance!. Breaking the cycle isn't hard, it's creating a new circuit that is the hardest to achieve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think so!. I think we can be our own people and based on what our parents do, we can make up our mind on how we want to parent!. Both my parents were alcoholics, so that makes me not want to drink around my kids!. Sometimes people do, but I believe you are free and can do what you want!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

only if you want to be!. you can choose to follow them, or learn from their mistakes!. it's all up to you!. no one is destined to become anyone except who they want to be!Www@QuestionHome@Com

In a way yes, we tend to imbibe things from our parents but we do develop our own personality as well depending on our life experiences!.
But we are definitely destined to try and make our children what we couldn't be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
