People without a culture would be poorer, I think; but to whom do you refer!? Everyone has some kind of a culture; if you think you or the people around you don't, it may be because you aren't objective enough to see it!. Take on a foreign exchange student, and you may be amazed by the things you take for granted that he or she finds exotic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What do you mean by a loss of a defined culture!? I feel as though we all do have a defined culture!. Its a new culture!. Granted, it may not be the culture your ancestors followed, nor is it a culture you will find in any other country!. But it is still our own unique culture!. It has all the nuances of any other!.!.!. just different!.

The world is becoming more homogenized!.!.!. that is true!. But homogeneity doesn't negate culture!. By your logic, it seems, only distinct cultures constitute culture!. Does culture not exist if there is no alternative to compare it too!?

Assuming you recognize differences between one culture and another, is that not merely a basis to formulate stereotype and prejudice!? People have an irrational, yet rationalized, pride in their own culture and heritage!.!.!. giving them a sense of superiority or supremacy over those cultures that differ!. Its called ethnocentrism!.!.!. but its really just pride unjustified, ambiguous to a people and not deserved by the individual!. That which their pride is rooted in is, by definition, not applicable to any other culture!.!.!. and therefore other cultures are undeserving of pride and praise!. One should not take pride in anything that is not specifically their own!.

Hypothetically, though, if one could truly not have culture!.!.!. it would make us poorer!.

But, I think homogenizing the worlds cultures have made us all richer!. Because we have less to feel superior about, less to set ourselves apart from our neighbor, except those things that are our own accomplishments in life!. We draw from the strengths of all cultures, without any one culture getting credit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i rejected culture and tradition a few years ago, i argued that traditions are useless, redundant!.
but lately, i feel my identity has been twisted, i feel confused!.
I wish i was ignorant enough to blindly follow the culture my parents taught me!.
i conclude that culture really does create a sense of belonging, it certainly does enrich you as a person!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
