Why do you have to pause(think about it) for a few seconds before you...?

Question: Why do you have to pause(think about it) for a few seconds before you!.!.!.!?

shake you head (answering yes) and at the same time responding verbally with a no!?

or

Nod your head (answering no) and at the same time answer verbally with a yes!?

because we're used to nodding our heads to say yes and shaking them to say no!. you're brain registers it as a contradiction and you have to conciously ignore that fact and shake your head and say yes or the other way round!. but that takes a moment, hense, the pause!. but it's still pretty fast!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
