Morality is obviously a concept devised by man!. There is a general consensus over what 'good' and 'bad' morals are, but this doesn't necessarily conform to what each individuals personal morals may be, although much of the time they do mostly coincide with society morals!.

Any moral decision I make based on my own morals, but as I say, my morals may not always necessarily tie in with general morality (although they usually do!)!. So say for example if someone murdered my son or someone else I loved deeply, I know I would be capable of killing this person myself!. Or if I was faced with the decision - save the lives of ten strangers or of my child, I would choose my child!. But then I have strong moral beliefs of things that are just not acceptible, many of which are agreed with by society, some might not be!. For example I think it is immoral to choose to live on state benefits your whole life when you are able to work (I don't think claiming benefits is immoral if it's done as a fall back when there is no alternative, but I don't think it should be a lifestyle) - and in my current situation I would be an awful lot better off financially if I chose to live on benefits, get a council house and not work, plus I would get to spend all my time with my son, however I am choosing to go back to work after maternity leave and be worse off for it because it is strongly against my moral beliefs!.

(Just read that back - sorry for using the word moral so many times!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is this morality based on my morality or on yours!?
I try to follow what I know in my own self to be moral, I make every attempt to treat all others as I would prefer to be treated and all things with as much respect as I would a human being (a human being is another for of some "thing") I do not follow or adhere to a religion imposed morality unless by chance it mirrors my own!. I would not hesitate to fight or even kill to protect my self from harm as I see no morality in that only some form of stupidity!. I find there is no moral reason to lie to anybody for any reason nor to cheat or to steal from another!.
And I find a lot of religious morals are in themselves "immoral"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Morality is very important to me!. I make every decision based on honesty!. I was taught one way by the church and grown ups!. Growing up I saw these same people do the opposite!. So, for many years I was confused and scared!. It wasn't until last year the truth was revealed to me and now the guilt and confusion is gone!. There are universal laws that everyone should keep!. Keeping those laws is what separates the good from the bad!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
