How satisfied would you be if you were to look back on your life and realise that you backed down out of fear to every situation that challenged you!? Psychologically speaking, people get a sense of achievement out of completion of a task, even if there are bad repercussions!. Thus people who stand up for themselves, their beliefs and fight through every situation that challenges them will have that sense of achievement and satisfaction that those who 'live on their knees' lack!.
