I totally think that Monistic Idealism could be and possibly is true!. Cartesian duality is hard to contemplate since it is based on the soul!. Which may or may not exist not to mention, if memory serves me right, the pineal gland!!

What is interesting though!. Is Monistic Idealism believes consciousness is the beginning of all and Cartesian duality believes the soul is!. Would be funny if the soul and consciousness were the same thing, then they both would be right!.

Course if I don't remember these two beliefs correctly, then the only thing wrong would be me!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, others have come to that conclusion too!.

The Church condemned Descartes' duality as heresy a long time ago!. It says that humans (Jesus included) can't be separated body from spirit into discrete units!. We are body and spirit (and mind and emotions) so tightly knit together that they're inseparable!. A spirit w/o a body is not a human; it's a ghost!. A body w/o a spirit isn't a human; it's a corpse!.

The duality is at best a kind of trope we use to think about things, and at worst a heresy that will lead us to the kinds of wrong thinking that the gnostics and manichaeists purported in the 3rd century!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think that cartesian duality vs!. monism presents a false dilemma!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
