Good question!. Unfortunately no one's really sure!.

It certainly seems like we have free-will!. It seems to me like I'm choosing to sit here and answer this question!.

But then science suggests that everything is either deterministic or random: neither of which are much good for free-will!.

It's one of the most long standing questions in philosophy and no one's come up with a good answer yet!.

I never got charged for using will power, so I guess it's free!. that is, I always have consequences (payback) from what I use it for, but never for its use in itself!. that's free will!. that's why it's called a gift!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
