August 2, 1997, 4:15 P!.M!. when I fell backward into a deep ditch, felt a pop in my back, and my legs went limp and useless!. In hindsight, it was probably one of the best things that could have happened to me!. Made me realize the preciousness of life, the importance of health, and how hard it is for little kids to learn to walk!. It took a year for me!. After that four months in hospital/rehab I had quit a twenty year smoking habit and have never picked it up again!. I also walk several miles a day now weather permitting and am in twice as good a health now as I was before!. I also have a greater compassion now for disabled people!. PLEASE DON'T PARK IN HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES PEOPLE!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Whittier Narrows Earthquake, October 1, 1987, at 7:42am, changed my life forever!.
At first, I thought it was the worst thing that could ever happen to me, seeing my house damaged after working so hard to buy it!.

But then the lessons became apparent!. Most important one: I learned what I truly valued!. Everyone I loved was safe!. That was all that really mattered!.

Suddenly material items lost their allure!. Oh, I was sad for the antique china that was destroyed!. But it was a thing, not a person!.

Most recent moment would be 2 years ago when I decided to sell my house and move to another state and retire!. My homes value had increased so much that I felt I had an opportunity and I took it!. As a single, older woman, I was told by friends that I couldn't do it alone, but I did and it has defiantly changed my live for the better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
