Question: Why do you wish you were dead!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I did, once upon a time, long time ago!. I did everything imaginable to succeed!. I jumped from a third story window, slit my wrists, overdosed, many times!. But the last time I had a 'near-death' experience!. I guess that is what turned the tide!. Since then, my life has done a 360! and I am so glad I did not succeed! No matter how bad things get, after every storm; there's a rainbow! My rainbow still rains down on me!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you mean, 'Why do you desire you were dead!?' Otherwise, if you meant "wish" you are suggesting a 'wish fulfilling entity' actually exists!. Furthermore, the 'wish fulfilling entity' also would have the ability to kill you through the wish--as if through will!.
A person could ask another person to cause their death!. Or a person can cause their own death!. But without a fatal force by instrument or hand or natural death causing agents, death cannot be willed to happen and the event actually occur!.

I don't desire to die--death causing agents will eventually kill me off in the future!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The most common reason is not despair, but loss of a sense of purpose!. People who have terrible afflictions, painful diseases and crippling handicaps always love life when they live for something or someone beyond themselves!. Find that someone or something!. And read "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankel!. It tells the stories of people in Auschwitz, waiting to be murdered or starved to death, who nevertheless found compelling reasons to live, and frequently did, often for purposes as commonplace as the desire to see a family member again, or to finish writing a book!. Purpose overcomes any hardship!. The things you are worried about or feel badly about today will pass, much sooner than you think, often unexpectedly!. Meanwhile, know that life is precious!. The gift is given once only, and then you are dead forever!. Do something else, go somewhere else, but love every sweet second of your life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Funny thing is I do not!. The funnier part about it is that over the years the worse my condition was and the deeper the hole I had dug for myself made me want to live all the more!.
Now with secure family life, nice bank account and having won so to speak I am so bored I could cry!. Still not done though!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
