Question: Do you think there is such a thing as "destiny" and "fate"!?

As an ex used to quote to me, "There is no destiny, because then i could just sit on my bottom and watch tv and do nothing and somehow God will find me in his plans"!. Indeed! I think God would find you and *force* you to get up and make a change!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is correct!.!.!.!.!.!.I was married over twenty years, and after my divorce which was a bad one!. I felt God lead me down some bad roads to get me to where I am now!. I needed them bad roads to change to be the best that I was meant to be!. And I have survived many many near death experiences!.!.!.I tell you I couldn't even kill myself!. It was meant for me to be where I am now, raising my son!.!.!.!.and God even answered my prayer for help in doing that, that he sent spirits and perhaps some were angels to help, guide and protect!.!.!.!.which is what my prayer was for!.!.!.!.!.!.I can't find enough words to thank God!.!.!.!.!.!.I didn't realize it until recently as I reflect back when I was about four years old!.!.!.!.!.God was there many times to carry me guiding me forward!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For me personally, it doesn't effect me if fate and destiny exist!. I believe that I have free will, but if I don't, it won't change my actions!. I will still act the same and make the same decisions that I do now!. It is possible that we all have specific paths laid out before us, but if I believed that I had no control over it, my life wouldn't be living for me personally!. This is just my personal philosophy on it and I still understand why it is so important to many people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I hate it when bad things happen and people tell me that its the way it was meant to be!. I can't understand it!.!.!.!.!.!.it just happened! There's nothing written anywhere that it should happen one way instead of another!

which in Latin means "man creates his own destiny"!. I find it very positive since i think it means that we are all capable of actively deciding what we want from life, and we are able to do it!. I do believe in fate, although I don't think it's a 'grand plan' created by the great fascist himself!. Instead i think it's just the natural 'flow' of events, although i think chaos can exist, I think it is independent of and within the realm of a determinate reality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe in both!. A plane crashes, and 230 people die!. 3 live without injuries!. To me this is fate, just as it was fate that some of the people who escaped the Twin Towers attack died in airplane crashes on their way back to Ghana!. That is simply too weird to not be fate!.

Mostly I believe life is what you make it and you have to go out and find your life but sometimes there are circumstances where we seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and unfortunately for some with tragic consequences!.
