Question: What's an event !?

In a philosophical sense an event is a happening which is subject to three constituents: space, time and causality!. That is to say, it is the effect of a prior cause happening at a place and at a particular moment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on the contect!. Einstein defined "event" in the theory of relativity as a point in spacetime!.

This meshes well which what philosophers usually mean by event, which requires space, time, and causation, as every event (on Einstein's definition) was caused by the immediately proceeding state of the universe!.

Of course in other contexts, to be an event, something really interesting has to happen, like a party!. If you watch TV commercials, every new episode of every show in prime time seems to be called an event!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

An event is something that happens in your life and is worth remembering!.
No event is ever forgotten!.
And yes, that may be debatable, but keep it to yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
