Some of them in that I see myself as a caretaker of them - but we're talking Tang Dynasty pottery, Sung Dynasty carvings, etc!.!.!.!. I mean they're real treasures!.

Otherwise the only things that own me are women's shoes!. A beautiful woman with a perfect pedicure just looks fierce in peep toe wedge sandals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For example, if you buy a car -

First, you invest x amount of hours of your life (aka money) to buy it!.

Now you're obligated to have someplace to store that car!. Your decisions on where and how you live are affected by that car (parking, garage,etc!.) You need to repair it, put gas in it, and insure it!. You worry about it getting stolen, damaged, or worn out!.

That car requires time, money, and emotional expense on your part!. You are responding to the car's presence, not the other way around!. In other words, it owns you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Any other answer is simple delusion!. Us Westerners, especially, want so much to believe otherwise due to our materialistic approach to life!.
We want to believe that we can love our Things, play with them, drive them, live in them, polish them, sleep with them, define ourselves by them and not be bothered should they disappear as all objects will do!.
Trying to convince yourself otherwise is folly!. There are good reasons why every major religious tradtion tells us this!. A major theme of Budda is non-attachment!. Jesus says the same thing!.!.!.don't get hung up on earthly treasures, try spiritual ones instead!.
Our tradition of greed and materialism whisper in our little ears what we can really beat the odds on this but it ain't no more true today than when Budda decided to simply sit under the tree and not call his realtor to buy it!.

That scenario has tried to occur, but I have resisted it fairly successfully!. I actually don't enjoy owning things, but modern society kind of forces us into that mode!.

I saw a home In San Diego which had green cement from the house to the property line all the way around!. There was a sign with an arrow pointing at the cement, which read "Grass" I liked that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
