eurphro dilema - do the gods know what is good and therefore will it or do the gods decide upon what is good and will it!? Both cause problems if the gods will what is good then good is external and thus is higher than a god and then god is not all powerful (the concept of a truely simple god is blown out of the water here) or do the gods decide upon what is good giving them the ability to will event he most awful crime to be good!. this would then give licence for anything to be moral and thus anarchy to reign!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

More than the ten commandments are covered in the law of the land and the bible is really contradictory about morality from OT to NT!.

i dont think that God really plays a role in it!. he gives up free will and we make our own decisions, we make the right and wrong!. he would like for us to always make right ones, but he knows no one is perfect thats why he gives us forgiveness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When you were a kid and thought to do something wrong you waited until your mother was not around!. God being everywhere is the same as mom looking over your shoulder and you wouldnt do something wrong with her watching right!?
If there was no religion and we were animals when someone pissed you off you would just kill them but that being "wrong" has been forced into us by our beliefs that something bad would happen if we kill another person!.
I find it funny that god says "tho shalt not kill" !.!.!.no foot notes no stipulations!. Except that in order to survive you MUST kill plants or animals !.!.!. it doesnt "say tho shalt not kill !.!.except things with lower intelligence"!.
We view god the way that best suits us which is why there are so many different religions!. If God existed and showed his face on earth there would be only one religion and he would have an endless time trying to explain himself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
