Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Most philosophers are not members of organized religions!. It does not take much contemplation to realize the blatant falsity of these human-made systems!.

Many philosophers are Agnostics and Atheists, and those who are not, are usually Deists or Spiritualists of some more individual sort!.

Philosophy and Religion do not go well together, because Philosophy is about questioning things, while (organized) Religion is about Dogmatism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My definition of philosophy is very basic!. I've defined it as a person's own individual belief system that intelligently guides the choices he makes in his life with or without a religious attachment!. Later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

do most religions have a philosophy!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most philosophers choose a more self-determined path for their observations on life, whereas religion reinforces predetermination and destiny from outside of the individual!.

The only strong tie that a philospher has to religion is the fact that often his ideas become religion after he dies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What it mean do not have a religion!? Cristian religion does not have philosophy!. ( ie love of knowledge)!.

Seriously!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, there are very few professional philosophers!. And any of us who choose to set our minds to thinking about some of the higher level issues in life are philosophers!. The field is very open!. The only time it is really "fenced in" is when someone tries to limit the scope of philosophy!. Once the field is opened and full, as it should be, the Answer would be that many philosophers do indeed have religion!. I would guess that if anyone is insinuating that Philosophers have no religion and are a bunch of heathens and nonbelievers, those same are probably in a religion that cannot survive the free reign of thought that philosophy brings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe!. Some religions discourage followers to think and question!. So there is some conflict of interest here!.

The objective of Buddhism is to seek enlightenment!. This cannot be achieve without thinkimg and questioning!. So I know many philosophers who are Buddhist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not organized no!.

I feel They take religion as more of a personal quest!.

They develop their own ideas about what they believe and what should be, but the don't try and force others to adhere to that teaching!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
