The very idea of "freedom from suffering" has to imagine "the suffering" it is trying to get rid with!!Www@QuestionHome@Com strictly looking at the universe philosophically, with no human existence, purely a region of infinte space, yes it can!. Universe does not have an emotion, it's us who does!. But then again, a universe void of existence, of life is dead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com when there is no pain how one can feel happiness of relief<>!?When one does not know the feeling of touch how one can experience the feeling of nearness<><>><><!? If one does not understand the opposite meaning what is fun in gossiping><<>!?, So the nature has make this world full of wonders so that one survive by feeling better to other!.if there is no suffering then pleasure of happiness will not be touched upon,and people will be ignorant what is suffering ,no comparison and no knowledge of happiness,so universe without suffering can not be imagined,coz then who will appreciate the nature!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Imagine that real you is nothing but Universe!.!. Suffering is that what Universe, (you) experiencing!.!.!. Forget about people for a moment, for they are all Universes filled with their unique perceptions of suffering in any possible forms!.!.!.!.Now try to answer a question to yourself; are you responsible for yourself!? If yes, then are you responsible for the Universe which consider to be YOU!? If yes, then do simple thing, clean up yourself from suffering, clean up Universe which is you!.!.!.That would be your contribution to Universe you are talking about , otherwise you are helpless, being suffering among sufferers!.!.!.You stop suffer first, and you'll get answer to your very question!.!.!.In order to understand a meaning of suffering you have no other choice but stop it for yourself!.!.!.Then and only then clarity comes!.
