You might qualify as a link in determining why the autism and ADHD rate has skyrocketed in the past few years!. I think sensory overload is common and people are inundated and traumatised by the pace of this hyper-industrial culture but they don't even realise it!. Only by withdrawing from the grid for a while you can discover just exactly what its doing to help pickle our brains!. I don't have TV myself, and every time I'm in a public place where one is on, I can[t help but be irritated by it, the obnoxious nature of flash advertising and even the way TV shows and dramas are filmed is different from what it was only 15 years ago, and it's more abrasive to the senses!. !.!.It's like they're demaning from you rather than presenting or suggesting!. Even product packaging reels with agression toward the consumer!.

Regarding the Child development deficits, I think our pace is simply getting to the point where children are being traumatised by this bombardment and are particularly vulnerable to its effects!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have issues with certain things!. Electronic "noise", the hectic materialism, crowded places with people acting like drones in their frenzy to "have"!.!.!.!.
There's nothing wrong with feeling the way you do!. Don't let it bother you so much!. Look at it like you would a play, be entertained by it, feel pity, observe it as a scientist would!.!.!.!.and then walk your own path!. Make choices that are your own, reasoned out, and let the rest slide!.!.!.a wise man once said (not in context to this question and this is only a small part of the quote) "!.!.!.!.!.this too shall pass!.!.!.!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sounds like you need to move to a different country!. But I do kind of know what you mean!. I rarely watch telly!. R u high!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

We can't call it age of information without the associated noise now can we!? But yes, I agree it is problematic when my browser hits a Flash ad and it gets stuck playing it!.

Ideally, all information should be important to us, yet the networks and media make money by in your face selling, ads become bread and butter for them!. I think most urban dwellers find a way to tune it out -- effectively forcing the ads to be louder and louder!.

It is a pollution problem getting out of hand!. The solution is to make it ineffective to pollute!. In this case, it eventually becomes our own responsibility to sort out noise from signal, to be able to filter things out so it does not affect our emotional health, to be like a hot knife cutting through butter in the noisiest environment!.

I love reading books just as much as the Internet -- where I could exercise my freedom of choice!. Painting, pottery, gardening, exercise, walks or generally out and about in the sun is just as nice!. A friend of my has recently entered and completed the Marathon for the first time, so there are still plenty of choices in life that remains healthy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally share your experience!. It seems like people are being hypnotised!. It's hard to tell what is illusion and what is reality in todays world!. The media is a Government Tool, worped and molded to what ever they want people to think, it scares me that people take every word on TV to be truth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
