Question: Why do we have so much while others have nothing!?

I dont understand why some people live such rich lives while others live in poverty!. How is this fair!?And why do we not do anything to help those who have nothing!? What is wrong with society!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow some bitter people here, but um I think that it's called the lottery of life, you're simply born into the lifestyle you're born into!. It's simply a matter of economics and politics!. Sure there are the two-dimensional people who only donate to look better to other people, but there are some people who genuinely care for the people living in poverty, sadly though I don't think it's enough to wipe out the poverty some places in the world go through!. But just remember that just because some people's suffering is much worse than your's that doesn't mean your suffering does not count!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With the exception of a few who inherit big fortunes, people are usually not born with money!. They usually work hard for the things they have!. Those who have more probably worked harder!. It is somewhat fair!.

No one said it was fair!. Why would you expect it to be fair!? It's called free trade!.

You don't do anything to help those who have nothing either because you're apathetic, due to the fact that you've never actually had to work, or experience plight first hand, or because you're well aware of what's going on, but you'd rather keep your money for yourself!.

I can only speak for myself!. I grew up in a home where my parents both worked and we barely made due!. As an adult I have worked very hard and finally got a career that I can make a comfortable living!. I am not rich by any means, but I think I am better off than my parents were at my age( we have the same number of kids)!. I can not truthfully say that I give to charity, but I see the need to help other people!. I think most of society (if they were truthful) feel the same way!. However I do not see the need to hand dollars to every person I meet on the street!. I suppose this makes me greedy, but I have seen too many people asking for money on the street and then drive off in their new cars!. I would think that rather than giving to people individually, I would be more likely to give money to an established charity that can show me how the money is used for the good of people that really need it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personal wealth and poverty is predicated on socio-economic systems!. The material assets or lack thereof, of a nations citizens, is a direct consquence of that nations political ideology!.

A!. Capatilism is a free market ideology!. Competetion drives our economy!. The government does not control supply or demand, the consumer and producers do!. Competetion in a free market place over limited assets breaks Americans up into three class systems: rich, middle-class, and poor!.

A!. Because we are freeeeeee! Freedom comes with a price, and the cost is that some of us will live in poverty!. Alternative socio-economic systems, that have very little to no poverty stricken citizens, are Communism and Socialism!. These systems "take-care" of the people by denying civil liberties!. Fairness in the eyes of the beholder!.
In theory, those who work hard will get more!. However, those who work smart by using their money for investment may get even more!. Education play a part, good government also play a part!.

Many countries in the third world become a nation from colony suddenly!. They do not have good infra-structure and good educated middle class to lead the government!. Bad political ideology like communism and corruption make the matter even worst!.

These poor countries fail to learn from places with good government like Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong which prosper quickly!.
