Question: Why would a person who don't want to live forever, want to live longer!?

It's not a contradiction but it seems like a bit of a contradiction!.

We modern humans live an equivalent of 2 life times compared to that of the romans!.

If we don't want to live forever, why do we advance ourselves inch by inch for clinging for our latter rather not so juicy geriatric life!. Prolonging life is like chasing mirage!. No matter how long we live we have to face the unpleasant geriatric phase!. It's prolonging life that save us from geriatric misery!. The answer is to facilitate a comfortable exit!. A smooth transition that will bridge us from quality life to death!. Euthanasia!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you realize that what you said made absolutey no sense!. People do not want to live forever because we know that it is destined that we one day die!. And we want ot live longer because we want to live full days there is nothing wrong with wanting to get a good job and chase the "good life"!. Sorry I don't buy that cause I think most people want to live as long as possible!. On the other hand I wish people would stop believing the myth that life ends at death!. That's no excuse not to want to live physically longer!. In fact if anything else it would show the powers that be that one cares enough about ones health that he seeks the best care possible that would enable him to do so!. Just a thought!. Life itself is not the issue!. Essentially, people, given the choice, wish to live a long time, mabie even forever!. It is the QUALITY OF THAT LONG LIFE that scares the **** out of them!. What is the use of living to ripe old age if you can't enjoy it!. What would be the fun if lived to be 100, but with advanced dementia you could only remember events when you were 50!.
