The world has been fraught with wars for several years now, and I think a lot of younger people think it will always be that way because they weren't around a few decades ago, when the only real military conflict was the one between Israel and primarily Palestine. There was the Cold War, but that wasn't really a war, just a tense stalemate. They think we can't have peace because they don't realize that, not too long ago, we almost achieved it.

Even then, though, there were conservatives who thought that there would always be war. My personal feeling is that this justified their conservative philosophies - their distrust of foreigners, their desire to dominate, their sense of superiority over other cultures, and so on - which would lead naturally to more war. In other words, if you think we will always have war anyway, it's easier to justify taking a stance that leads to war.

So I think there are two reasons that people think wars are eternal: not realizing that the world is sometimes fairly peaceful, and assuming war is inevitable to justify warlike philosophies.

As long as people(s) have opposing interests their will be the potential for war whenever diplomacy fails.

I am with you on this one. In a hundred years there will probably be no humans to make war.

At least as long as men exist. Wars are part
of man's nature. Wars serve also the purpose of not letting peace be taken for granted.

One person fighting another is the beginning called War and yes they are internal ONLY on planet EARTH
You will only be at peace when you return to the House that has many mansions.

1) Whenever someone wins a war there are always those who lost the war, were effected greatly by it, and will continue to have anger towards their oppresors. Sometimes this anger lasts generations and centuries. Just look at the Middle East & Israel. And look almost anywhere in the world where there's BEEN war and there are still remnants of the losers of war.

2) There is always someone in power and always those who seek it. There are always people how live with surplus and those who barely make it. Thus, there is always conflict to be on top. There is always jealousy and envy.

However... I guess...
If you look at the U.S., we've managed to make the middle class so busy and minimally content with itself that it doesn't feel the need for revolution or civil war.

If there was a way to manage the entire world the way the U.S. does then perhaps we could be looking at peace. But thats a long hard road and 100 years time is not enough for that-let along just trying to solidify democracy in Iraq.

in 100 years it will be worse than it has ever been.. 2163,thats when everything clears up...

There will always be wars and rumors of wars. As long as humans are human. The trick of course is to win.
