Position:Home>Philosophy> How would do you interpret Sabbath today?

Question:Constructively.

As a way to care for the environment (no pollution, no use of cars, no use of electricity, etc.)

as an institutionalized day of rest. When made part of religious dogma, it's harder to argue with it.

By getting a lot of house cleaning done and then relax and watch a movie or watch the church people crowding my block and trying to find a parking space.

its the time all christians and catholics stop to rest and pray to god. a time to give thanks. worship the lord. most bussisnessis nowadays cant argue with it.

The time of rest where everything is at a standstill.

The time set to do nothing but praise God and thank Him for all His blessings, a way of showing our appreciation to His goodness, basking in His glory and recognizing that He is the ultimate power.

Same way it's always been of course - from about sundown on Saturday to about sundown on Sunday - it comes from a Hebrew word meaning to 'cease'... the Sabbath is meant to be a day of rest and/or worship. In the bible it was first used for the last day of Creation. To remember and keep the Sabbath is one of the 10 Commandments.

Otherwise that word is in the names of dozens of heavy metal bands, vampires and other villans, pets, etc.

As one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.....oh......hang on............you mean the other Sabbath don't you?!!

Every day is Sabbath in Eternity!0!

Enjoy!

A holy day reserved to give thanks and praise. To look at the big picture and try to realize what small part you must play to make all things flow.....constructively
