Ahhhhhhhh...to know oneself is to "observe" one's ego-self. In that observation, the revealed ego is no longer in the shadows, and the "light" of exposure brings its dissolution. Could this be, quite simply, what en"light"enment is? Shine the spotlight on the hidden despot and the Ego Emperor is seen to be without clothes. What a revelation! What is left but one's essential self...one's true nature (au naturel). If one is counting milestones, and diligently leaves no stone unturned, then what remains is stone silence (complete silence, where all is revealed). If you skip stones across the pond(ering), ripples form and as quickly dissolve back into their source, which brings up the question: Is pondering worthwhile? Or, are we to skip the pondering altogether (all together)? i've heard it said that curiosity killed the cat, but what about a small insignificant sufi student? In the spirit of being sufi-cient unto yourself, would it not be better to sink back into the a"stone"ishing pondnificence? After all, even CEOs, COOs, and CFOs appreciate a good merger. How moreso a sufi-sticated one such as yourself? May the Pond be with you (and you with the Pond).

i am sufi-ciently unSirius

I 'Chang -The metamorphose of man and his ability to release his inner Ki to become his own Master.

Perhaps a millistone for man, as he has forgotten that woman also exists & is of his equal. Perhaps not so much enlightenment as man thought?
"Peace right back at ya"

I am of the opinion that "know yourself" has become an obsolete cliche, and nobody becomes any more enlightened that before.

According to Carl Jung so much has been accumulated throughout the collective background of Mankind that we no longer are able to know whom we really are.

Then, comes the individual background throughout actual life, subject to so many changes in environment of everyday living,
that our own whatever has been lost somewhere to prevent us from really knowing ourselves.

Now, why would we want to know ourselves
even if it were possible? To speculate, it would be if something, disappointing and not psychically healthy at all.
