Can LOVE be considered as a merely kind of ADDICTION?

Question:oh woww. .i love that statement coz i think its VERY VERY true.. i think i'm suffering from a love addiciton right now... care to tell me where the rehab center is? lol but yeh i completely agree that love can be kind of an addiction.. especially when you get lovesick just coz your away from that perosn for a while and that's not right coz your whole world doesn't revolve around this one person... this often leads to only one person working hard to make a relationship succeed, while the other partner couldn't really give a damn...

yes it can...i suffer from it.... there is L.O.V.E and there is love . most ppl suffer L.O.V.E which is an addiction.

When we say love sometimes we mean lust, infatuation, caring and/or sex. Addiction means a compulsion linked to something chemical. We use the term for any bad habit we have that we don't want to be accountable for. "It's not my fault. I'm addicted to shopping." No you aren't. You choose to have a bad habit.
Love, on the other hand, is a good habit. If we are talking about selfless love, their is also a chemical high that comes with helping others. It is a good reward for good behaviour.
That is an example of something that is a wonderful habit.
I volunteer and get amazing highs off of being useful. It keeps me coming back knowing that I made someone's life easier. Is love merely an addiction? No. It is a good pattern of healthy living.

Addiction is a dependence that has damaging effect. We need love all through our lives but The prob is we dnt recognize what love is. Love z as necessary for prosperous living as is blood for human body. It counts from the love u find in the lap of ur mother to the love of person takes u to the grave. Its ingredient of life not addiction.

The wrong kind of love is addictive and needs to be recognized and exorcised. Oddly, this illusory love can only be treated with love, the unconditional kind. Here are some of the symptoms of addictive love:
it is one-sided
it is used to compensate for something lacking
it gets you through the night, but makes you feel like hell in the morning
it requires money or gifts to sustain itself
it feeds on the superficial and cannot stomach anything of real emotional depth
