Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: All answers should be your pure opinion. I want to hear some feedback from other people. All short answers will be thumbed down. I do not want purely religious answers simply because it is to repetitive and not unique. What can we hope to accomplish in our life time? What is the point of having this accomplishment?

I'll start like this:

Are we at peace with life in spite of it's possible meaninglessness? I would say no. For doubt casts a shadow upon the light of hope and peace. It is illogical to think that we will ever be able to know that there is some bigger meaning to all this, let alone know what it is. Can you live at peace with that doubt? No, as said before.

Yet, there is some peace here, there must, I have felt it. In that moment of peace, you just know that "all is well" (Albert Camus). I suspect you have felt peace in your life. I would suggest you reflect on what brought about that peace.

For me, the peace comes only with pure ignorance of the possible meaninglessness of life. If you can say that you were in a state in which you could not "step back" and doubt it, then I'd say you were in a state of peace.

Peace of mind is such. With it we disconnect ourselves for the logical paradoxes that arise when trying to give meaning to your life. It is a state of no logic, and arguably no time.

But this all ties back to your question. What is the meaning of life? To be at peace, or moreover, to just be. Anything else is pure abstraction to possible doubt. For instance, if it were said that life's meaning is to help others, this can be doubted. What if everyone died except you? I know this is far fetched, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. What would you conclude from that first formulation on what the meaning of life was? Obviously it's false, everyone is gone. The only thing that is purely undoubtedly is our existence. We will always be, until we are not (death, or I guess coma).

The meaning of life to me is leave this world a little better than it was when we got here. So far not so good.

It is better to live for the eternal, the long lasting, rather than the temporary and passing.
If all one does in life is focus on him/herself and never does anything for others, that is a life wasted. To work, play, write, think, to do anything should all be for the betterment of the future of others.

Life to me is when I actually get to fulfill not just my own dreams but to those people i love as well.

Life is when I satisfy my family, my friends, myself.

Life is when I am happy and everyone around me is.

Life is when i pick up a banana peeling from the road so as to save other people from sudden misfortunes along the way.

Life is when I get to change a single person for his betterment.

Life is when I put a smile to a Mr. Grumpy.

Life is when I continue to live and look for my purpose.

Life is when I wake up each morning thanking God for another day.

Life is when I have been living it, but still search for more, always up to challenges.

Life is when I never give up in my weakest moments.

Life is having people around you who cares for you and you care of.

And now to achievements...?

Well, I think having to live your life in satisfaction to all its aspects (spiritually, mentally, emotionally, socially, whatevertally) makes it all fulfilling..

MEANING is the relationship of one thing to another.

By itself a star means nothing. But to life on earth, the star we call the sun means everything.

A Lion by itself means nothing. Put the Lion in a room with you, it means everything.

What do our lives & acheivements mean? By themselves nothing.

But our lives can & do MEAN a great deal to those around us.

As life you can do what all other life is trying to do, i.e. to make new life.

There's a million ways to sing it, but the song remains the same.

there is no meaning of life if your alone in a island.. no meaning of even acheivements... no meaning to even wake up in the morning.l. .. no meaning to even take a bath.. dress up....work...sometime no meaning even continue to eat for the purpose of eating...no point to talk......no meaning to continue living..

since we know the extreme case....the logical things to do in case of extreme is find a meaning.... otherwise no point to continue life..

NO MEANNING...NO LIFE....NOTHING...DEAD END...

find meaning.. thru religion.. or philisophical... or waking up in the morning is the hardiest things to do.....

good luck.. in your pursuit of happiness and peace...
