Forgiveness is an act of pardon towards someone who wronged or injured you.

Compassion is an act of love towards someone or something else.

Compassion comes from within, forgiveness by request.

compassion means understanding and empathy for the other person.
forgiveness means that despite the way you feel about what was said and or done you are willing to let it go and move on.

Forgiveness is an act of the will that emanates, flows from or originates in compassion.

Forgiveness implies that you felt wronged at some point and are no longer angry. It implies that you have had an emotional reaction to something.

Compassion flows forth without emotion. It is about being connected with other people in a way that does not depend on feeling good all the time.
