Position:Home>Philosophy> How can you make peace on this earth?

Question:Citizens everywhere today are demanding that their leaders make choices to advance the cause of peace. What is disturbing is the grotesque imbalance between our powers of destruction and our failing ethical capacity for empathy and self-restraint.

Genuine leadership must be based on a solid commitment to protecting the precious fabric of daily life. The ordinary citizens of the world are raising their voice, insisting that all decisions - whether political, military or economic - be made with this human reality firmly in view.

The common cause of human happiness is the strongest basis for human solidarity. In a world of intimate interconnection, solidarity cannot be limited to just one group or nation. It must embrace all the people everywhere.

Technologically we live in a borderless world. In reality, however, we exist in compartments, separated by walls of caste, religion and geography. We acknowledge the information explosion as being a great achievement and take pride in describing ourselves as a knowledge-based society. Snowed under as we are with mounds of information, we are facing a paradox - we find that ignorance levels are growing as well. The rate at which we are accumulating information is not commensurate with the rate at which our awareness is growing.

These are the few of the ways to make peace on earth.

You cannot make the ideal Eutopia-like peace on earth, but you can create your own peace on earth by behaving in a kind, considerate way to everyone, so that they may see this and be inspired to act in the same way to you and to others. It is as the golden rule: Do to others as you would have them do unto you.

make peace with yourself first, then make peace with your neighbour. Love your neighbour.
In case u r angry with your neighbour (any human), do not let the sun to set on the anger. Make peace before it is too late.

i don't think we can Hun,sad but true.it would certainly be fantastic if we could! however we can do our part to make it a better place!! nice thought though isn't it?

Giving Kashmiris right of self determination is one step towards this nobel goal..

meditate and forgive everyone every day and forgive your self when you forget to do both these things

meditation is one way of feeling peaceful by yourself.. i have done this a few times.. i just started again a few nights ago... peace in our world is becoming a very small possibility.. with talking of a one world goverment(some say thats peace, but that gives all power and fate of billions of people to few people) i believe we must eliminate borders for countries... stop taxing, stop seizing... stop laws.. get rid of all the ******* in washington... stop everything.. sure we love how we live. but we cant have piece if we want to drive cars, use computers, travel... one way to have true peace realistically in our time is to eliminate everything that corrupts us now.. and that is mainly the media and goverment... and of course stop all the genocides around the world and slavery.... and stop inhabitin iraq... i dont know how much of you know this.. but we are just about to go to war with iran... bush take over iran if he wants control over the middle east... and with 9 months left he has nothing to lose now.. he may also go to jail.. he has been writing bills and in the fine print there are things about pardoning him from any war crimes... he really needs to die... and when he does peace probably will be felt for a while...

You can't.

You will never have World Peace as long as you have religion. The greatest loss of life on this planet is not from war or disease, but from intolerance to a belief. That's very sad.

The only way possible to bring peace to this planet is to remove all forms of life from it. While we dasterdly humans are no doubt the worst offenders, all beings live in constant terror of being someone elses lunch, while those at the top of the food chain fear not getting lunch.

We would have to admit that democracy doesn't work because the split on most issues is 50/50. We need to find honest, moral leaders who genuinely care about the good of everyone. Banning man-made psych drugs and legalizing the natural ones would help. People need to realize that we share this world with billions of individuals with different beliefs, thoughts, and opinions. No 2 people are identical in thought. We are probably all wrong about how we got here and what God wants, so getting rid of religion would be smart. The main problems in the world always stem from obsessions with money and power. If we can eliminate the need for money I think we can find peace.

I can create peace on this earth by creating peace within myself and minding my own business. Yes, I know that this concept is difficult to fathom, but I can do it. Cheers!

by first being a peaceful person frm within...only then can u spread peace...remember...there is definitely a long way to go..but the beginning is this...cultivate peace completely...within urself...
