For the majority of the people on this planet, I'd have to sadly agree...not all of us though.

I don't agree at all. Most people favor as much freedom and independence as they can readily expect in a capitalist society. What you quote is the kind of nightmarish philosophy that both Obama and Clinton entertain. It is socialist thought, pure and simple. I disagree with it, totally.

I think for many of us this is true. I think some people need to be told whats 'in' or 'out' and be given a course for our lives. Havent we all been told since day 1 about the american dream? what if thats not my dream? then im weird. why is that????

I think thats statement is true for many people. I am not saying this to offend- but some christians are like that. They even turn to their church leaders to find out who to vote for! People like their decisions made for them, it makes like easier.

As teen agers we had to fight for our independance, those doing that would never go back...
In slavery times, revolt over slave owners, the majority would not go back...

Life is not for the timid of heart... freedom means new discoveries, freedom also means more self authority, more means of directing and controling your own life.. it also means more responsibility.... When you gain independance you must take care of yourself... it's a little scarry for some.. but most of us have had our training wheels taken off our bikes and survived the process...

added... lets not forget learning from our own mistakes... mistakes can lead to the greatest of freedoms...
