Position:Home>Philosophy> Do you strive for progress, not perfection?

Question:Exactly! Can you imagine being perfect, there would be nothing left to work on, no more meaning to gain. Its in the appreciation of progress that I grow.

You can progress to the idea of perfection, but if its actually obtainable is a different question.

Don't they correlate? I mean if I'm striving for perfection, wouldn't I have to progress (in some manner) to get there?

Ideally, I think that we should strive for progress. But many, like me, need to have it right the first time and every time.

I strive for peace.

You can keep progress and perfection.

Love and blessings Don

yes

Nothing is perfect and neither is any person. Some people might think they are perfect but that is in their own eyes. Some people might believe that perfection can be achieved, but that would depend on the judge. I strive for progress knowing that I and nothing I do will or can be perfect to everyone but can achieve a goal if it was set by me and I am the only judge. Everyone has their own opinion and what you consider perfect, I may not. Perfection can never be achieved unless you are the only one judging it.

Progress over perfection, perfection is an ideal that is subjective, moreover it's not something that can fully be agreed upon, like beauty it's in the eye of the beholder. And what's perfect for one is not good for someone else...

Progress, however, is each step along the way and it's the next step after the one you just took and after the one you will take. It's on going, it builds on each other. It's by far the better ideal to strive for, you grow by learning along the way and the world has a shot at becoming a better place.
