I have to agree with Rainchild. "straight edge" is just another fad term. It's just teenagers who are seeking a label of some sort. I think there is always comfort in conformity, they list these commandments and rules and follow them religiously. I'm not condoning drug or alcohol use at all. I just disagree with have to label everything. I'm sober, I don't do drugs, or eat junk but I don't call myself "straight edge". Look after your health and your body, but there's really no need to label it.

yeah i think it kinda has a negative connotation. you only live once why not live it up?

this is what i think of it

"Brother national socialist, do you know that your Führer is against smoking and thinks that every German is responsible to the whole people for all his deeds and missions, and does not have the right to damage his body with drugs?" - Nazi propaganda magazine as quoted in the British Medical Journal

Straight edge?? I know of cutting edge, but straight edge, nope, sorry.

I have never used the term straight edge used like that. A straight edge is a ruler shaped object used for drawing that lets you draw... straight.

With all apologies, your spelling and punctuation make your post difficult to read and might create a false impression regarding your sobriety.

In any case, I remember "straight edge" as a now-defunct teen-aged fad involving teen tea-totallers cliquing up and acting all smug & self-righteous about their lack of chemical vices.

I'm here to tell you that you can stay off the drugs and the booze and the smokes without calling yourself straight edge, curved edge, leading edge, or anything else.

To sum it up: You're right. "Straight edge" is just a term. People, within limits imposed by the law and their own consciences, do live their lives as they want to.

Hope that you live safely,

Best regards,

Rainchild

I must be getting old, I remember...
Square= old fogie
straight laced= goody 2 shoes, stuffy, stuck up
nerd, punk, jock, skater, preppie, and banger
But straight edge?
you lost me.

yea live it up man, you only live once, don't let some beliefs that people put in your head when your a kid affect your decisions.

they're just scared, live it up man.

hmm dont remember who said this... but .. "only ******* go through live sober"
