Opiate?? interesting to liken it to a drug. Philosophy is excersising mans gift to reason. Religion is from god. IMO, Im a christian though so this maynot stick with all.

PHILOSOPHY, IN THIS SENSE, CAN'T BE A DRUG -- IT'S GOT TO BE SOMETHING SOBERING BECAUSE PHILOSOPHY, UNLIKE RELIGION, TRIES TO FIND TRUTH AND FACE IT HEAD ON WHILE RELIGION IS ALL ABOUT MASKING THE TRUTH AND AVOIDING IT.
