Question:Having trouble answering this?? confused???

One day a clear and distince voice echoes through earth and says surprise you have all been living in a world that has been given space, time , and causality to make things easier for your mind. For the first time ever I will let you out into the real world, a world without space, time or causality or you can stay here. You have to choose now. What decision would each philosopher make (Kant) and why. Based on their theories would the be surprised?

What would Kant do based on the distinction between noumena and phenomenon and the categories of understaning of space, time, and causality???

"the real world, a world without space, time or causality" would seem to be Kant's world of noumena, which by his definition are unknowable. How would you know anything in a world without time, space, or causality? You would not.

Since Kant would be in an unknowable world, he would have to say, "Aha! I told you so."

But we both know the "real" world is not the hypothetical one proposed here, or we would already be in it.

Holy cr*p what a hard question. I thought Kant was the ethics dude that stood up for the rights of animals.

Good Luck.

Sounds like a philosophy question for class so I will give you a SMALL start.

Kant would recognize the real world through the evidence and at the same time his faith would recognize the distinction of there being a creator.
