Position:Home>Philosophy> A leopard never changes its spots?

Question:Do you think that once you see a side or personality trait from a person that you dislike, they will always be like that? Do you think it's possible for a person to change there personality after doing something wrong? Or, do you think that once a person shows you who they are, it doesn't matter what they say about how they are different now, because in reality they are still the same person?

I have always believed that a Leopard, can never change it's spots, but People can change their attitude if they want to better themselves, sometimes you pass through a crisis that makes you realize you think you are better than anyone, or anything, and it takes a tragedy in your Life, to make you think differently.

yep. That's true; especially if it is a part of the personality as you said. Just be careful not to judge so quickly.

People can and do change. This isn't always the case but if someone is growing as a person and has a desire to be introspective and understand their own shortcomings while striving to improve themselves, they can. I grew up in an environment that made me somewhat cynical and quite sarcastic. I am in my 50's now (how'd that happen so fast!!!) and am a well liked person. I still have faults and make mistakes but I never stop trying to live a closer walk with Jesus and always try to be a better friend and family member.

Well a leopard never changes it's spots but men and women can change themselves.
We aren't cats! We are human beings and if we see the need or find the desire to do so? Then we will.
Women change all the time, the gender is more adaptable to change then men are. But men? Well we won't change unless we absolutely have to. But not until then.

People learn from errors, and change. But the question is: Are people conscious of the errors some others detect? If not, there'll be no change at all. Who decides what's wrong or right?

A leopard may not change his spots, but he does change his mind and he does go through various emotions and reactions depending on circumstances. A leopard is probably more predictable than a human being. Humans are very complex individuals, they can swing from good to bad and through everything in between, just as a pendulum swings. Personality is different than behaviour. Personality is what you are attracted to in a person...the good and it is always there although it may sometimes be overshadowed by some wrong behaviour...the mud...that can be washed away. Look for what is good and beautiful in a person and focus on that. What you focus on is what you get...reinforce that quality that beauty in the person by letting them know what you see...don't reinforce the negative, but you can show your displeasure with it....and yes the negative can always be swept away when one recognizes the negative and makes a committed effort to annihilate it. Humans -- all humans -- are spiritual beings have a human experience, and all are capable of the greatest and highest good as well as the lowest of the lowest...it is all a matter of choice. We have free will...that means the ability to choose how we will act or react to any and all things...My advice see the good in yourself and you will see the good in others...look for it...it is there. Trust it.
