Position:Home>Philosophy> My first job reaction?

Question:This is my first job! Ever! And its fast food. I didn't do anything. I came there, put my best effort. Smiled. I was a sad, almost the entire staff, ignored me. No one trained me how to used the machine for the cashier? No one showed me where all the stuff are. I feel like I didn't belong there. But I tried my best. However, I didn't feel like it was my time to work. No one really cared if I was there or not. But why is that?Have Ive done something wrong?

Jobs like that can be tough and it being your first job, I say try and stick it out for at least 6 months. That is how long it can take to even feel comfortable in a job and know it well enought you dont' have to think about it so much.

If no one is helping you, talk to the manager and ask what the training schedule is and what should you expect. Your manager is the one responsible and maybe he did not communicate clearly with whomever what they should do for you.

give it a chance. I would say in contrast to my first paragraph that if in 2 weeks you are not becoming part of the team and are not recieving any training, You may want to consider another place of employment.

If you do that, consider writing a letter of resignation addressed to your manager and any parent company stating factually the situation and that you are leaving due to lack of any training or instruction.

In seeking another job I would not list them as an employer on an application or resume. just move on.

I'd quit if no one is willing to help you out how are you supposed to improve theyre just gonna focus on how bad you are rather than help you. quit and go for a job that will truly appreciate and train you so you can succeed.

welcome to the world of work. people will either ignore you, treat you like garbage, blame you for their problems, or give you the worst job that no-one else wants to do. but you might meet some decent people too and have some fun.

Don't worry sweetie! Your co-workers are jerks and are probably miserable at where they work. Try to just stay your normal happy self and do not worry about them. It is not you at all! Good luck!

All I can say is life sucks sometimes. I think I can relate to how you feel but in a different situation. Anyway, its not about whether you did something wrong or right. Sometimes in life its just hard to find your place. I mean we try so hard but things just arent going good. So I just wanna remind you of what Theodore Roosevelt said: Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

Oh, if you have a better opportunity, go for it. Dont think twice. Dont be filled with unconfidence, just do it.
