Question:If I believe I can fly, I can fly.

Hm. I would call that an appeal to authority, myself.

This becomes apparent if we skew it a little bit. If your answer to the same question was "Stephen Hawking said so", that would be a pretty classic case of appeal to authority. The only substantial difference in this case is the Hillary is citing herself as the authority.

It might be called a -faulty- appeal to authority if you decide as well that she hasn't enough authority in the field of politics to even presume to answer such a question. You might also call it personal bias if you believe that her objectivity on the issue is compromised by the fact that she's talking about herself.

But yes, it is definitely a KIND of fallacy, no matter how you slice it.

It's not a fallacy of logic and it's not necessarily wrong, either. Your statement, on the other hand (about flying) is called

The question of winning or losing is inmaterial and important. The true winning is how one plays the game. Is the gameplay honorable, fair, and clean? .
