The Alchemist would be the most influencial.

That is a difficult question hmmm.... Anything by Descarte and Plato is generally worth reading.

Calvin and Hobbes "The days are just packed."

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand as if that werent obvious.

Questions that Matter:An Invitation to Philosophy by Miller and Miller. Believe me if you are interested in philosophy you need a copy of this book. It influenced me immensely. Enjoy reading and side effects include down to earth reasoning. Talk to your professor if Miller and Miller is right for you.

A Theory of Justice by John Rawls

Peter Singer's Animal Liberation. It was the final push I needed to become a vegetarian. It doesn't just play with shock power or emotion, it actually backs everything up with simple utilitarian logic.

I find Plato interesting, as well as Descartes. I would say that what I have read by them has gotten me to think about life more than I used to, however I don't think they have made me change much of my day to day life, unlike Singer.

My first real philosophy book was "Last Days of Socrates" by Plato
