I think so--if it's something that you, personally, find meaningful. If there is a chance that it could be true, it's at least worth a look-see.

If a person cannot prove or disprove something, they won't know that unless they have tackled the problem. A person doesn't know ahead of time whether a hypothesis is provable until the procedure, experiment, whatever it is is finished. So Icannot say, in advance, whether it is worth it or not.

If we used that standard, then we wouldn't ever prosecute criminals, or go to Church.

There is such a thing as analysis paralysis, where one waits so long to get enough information that they end up taking no action. Then the opportunity is lost.

Live your life, it can be messy. Clean it up later, and learn to prevent that particular mess. Move on to the the next thing.

why would anybody investigate something that has all ready been proved? you can check the numbers and processes to insure accuracy but the heavy lifting is all ready finished. and how can you know anything for certain until you do the work and investigate and see what is really is? you are trying too hard to maintain your prejudgicies.
