Hmm self-sacrifice. Are these thousand people a bunch of randoms whom I have no emotional connection to or a thousand baby killing criminals? Than most likely no. Or are they a bunch of pregnant women & small children, or close family and friends? Than yes.

Oh or if I was promised a large golden statue of myself and an annual day of celebration in my honor (and I wasn't saving raping, murdering criminals) than YES!

Tough question to answer without knowing anything about the 1000 people! I would be willing to sacrifice myself but I will not sacrifice my family for any amount of people!!

If I am saving a group of innocents, people who deserve to live and have a chance then yes, I would die for them.
I guess if I was the alternative to 1000 people dying and never having the chance to do what is right or change the way they are living then I would certainly be willing to give my life for all of theirs.
Even some criminals can change. Everyone deserves a chance to change. I would not have the wisdom or ability to see exactly who would change but they do deserve the chance.
It isn't a sacrifice on your part if you kill someone else.
Christ died for everyone, even those evil people, I guess we should have the same attitude.

it depends on who the 1000 were. if they were all evil they deserve to die, if the majority were nice normal ppl then yea, id easily sacrifice myself xx
