Well there have been so many "promises" that have not worked out over the centuries, (some even being disastrous) so people think the chances of any new idea working out are not very good.

It's the economy or lack there of .

If you think you are getting it all for nothing.

Due to the nature of the human being, any promise of a bright new future automatically arouses suspicion in ones mind. We have been lied to numerous times by numerous people. It is our nature to be suspicious of anything that might be too good to be true. Generally when it is too good to be true, it is just that. Of course we want to believe, but who doesn't.

i think it's got more to do with personal perception. if ur negative or cautious... every step has it's own suspicion if ur careless or carefree ... future it pretty much not-so-important.
but in 2day's world, there's a lot around us .. just ready to scare us to death... too much negativity in the environment.

The fact that we know from experience that pain exists and we have to deal with it. Change has to take place to erase the bad things in life or at least make them go away for a while. Change is not always bad either. It is simply change.
