I'm pretty homocidal right now, so it's taking everything in my power to set that aside and look at the big picture so I can be deep (okay, not really homocidal, but if I had the power to hurt someone really bad and get away with it, I'd do it).

I base my novel and short story themes on deep questions. I suppose my favorite is, "Are some humans naturally evil or do they choose evil actions because of personal damage?" I struggled with this question and am still struggling with it as I write the novel.

The deepest answer, which will be cryptic because it doesn't apply to my deepest question, but rather a more cliche question, is, "That's for each of us to discover for ourselves."

I think my 8yo knows every question on the planet that doesn't have an answer. I try to look up the answers for her. Honest. But there just don't seem to be answers for them. And I'm someone who likes research.

The biggest question we can never know the answer to in life is what really happens after death. Faith can paint a picture of an afterlife, but we won't really know until we cross that border. I personally don't want to lug around the harp I was told I would be playing in Heaven. I'm hoping it's different. Otherwise I'm going to be disappointed about behaving here (I behave, honest...that stuff about being homocidal...that was my dog typing).

Well, if we're talking deep as in "Dude, that's deep," I'd have to say the deepest question I can think of is "Why are we here?''

I can't really think of a deep answer for that right now. Not high enough. (Yes, that's a joke)
