Globally speaking, because not all people are free. As long as there are tyrants oppressing people there will be no peace. Ever notice that democracies do not make war on other democracies? Tyrannies make war on everybody.

Why can't we live in peace? In general terms for humanity, because we're aggressive and reactionary by nature. It takes learned behavior to be able to control your emotions and reactions. In our aggressive mode, providing we our stronger than then next person, we tend to take things we want if we can't otherwise get them through civilized means. In our reactionary mode, we get offended over the smallest things like a perceived insult or constructive criticism. We react by wanting to get even.

If we had learned to control our behavior, we would set our own goals and course in life and take a more proactive stance. For things we want, we would learn how to get them without being confrontational. Unfortunately, a good portion of any population has a tendency to resist learning and by nature fall back to their instinctive ways.

Because we all have different opinions, and we all want the other to think like us.

We never think that WE are same,together no diif.We consider ourselves as an individual hence the conflict.Thinking of ONENESS is not there,so---

Because peace for one person is the opposite for another.
If you take the any foodchain/web, for instance, there's always a predator and prey (even if everyone were to become vegetarian, you're still eating plants which is technically a living thing, and we can't survive on plastic). However, with the food chain example, there's still balance.

But, humans are generally destructive, and thus create more problems for everyone, foodchains or not.

As long as emotions are going to be involved in the world..we will never live in total peace. People feel too much, and misunderstand too much..for things to ever fall perfectly into place. It'll come close to happening sometime, but I don't see it lasting long..and I think the falling out that'll happen afterwards will be really bad.

Because since the beginning of times there has been greed and the need of survival at all cost. If something or someone risks your survival then you eliminate that thing or person. Also the human desire to be better than others. It's easy to say that in American everyone wants to be treated equally, however that is a lie. If that were the truth than we would not separate ourselves with black history month or other cultural highlights. It is because we want to be recognized is why we have different ethnic holidays. I f we wanted to be equal we wouldn't want anyone to be noticed.

So to answer your question the greed of recognition keeps us at each others throats and there will never be peace.
