Position:Home>Philosophy> Whats is existence to you?

Question:from a cancer sufferer battling to stay alive to a prostitute trying to put herself through college to a kid having to go to school every morning even though he knows its another day of bullying and abuse.. Any recommendations for reading material on all this?

Do all these people share the central theme of trying to exist?. At what point does it suddenly become futile for them?

I mean how would you word it?

I'm going through a philosophical phase this morning and my mind is so fuzzy. Thank you.

Nature has endowed each one of us with some unique qualities/talents/skills that is needed in creation. Know what it is and make that the self identity(not imitate or model after others outside us),be what we truly are and relate that to the good of self and others, especially to those who need you.Struggling to become like others(a futile venture in any case!) is the cause of misery in our life.

the universe doesn't care about humans or any other life. There is no one definition of what life is "worth" living since all lives are equally value-less.

Some people throw in the towel easily, some hang on through amazing odds. Whatever floats your boat

i lost everyday waiting for hope
but i never be a monk living a life that do not need to know hope
i believe in the term " you never know what the next tide will bring in " but the pain is the tide is endless in term of time

existence is a heartbeat and an effort at breathing.

the quality of existence or the quality of life, is a whole different ball game.

the cancer patient or the prostitute can be the happiest people you meet! the millionaire on the highest point in hollywood could be the most depressed because they worry about their money and the intentions of people around them (are they after my money or are they genuine?)

existing does not need trying. everyone exists without effort. to give MEANING to your existance, is a different story. if there is effort involved, the human predisposition is to fight, so there IS effort and there IS reason to exist. if there is NO reason or NO effort, the human form/shape simply stops existing. one way or another.

fuzzy minds are usually helped by going outside and breathing fresh air, not vegging in front of your pc!

we all exist as human beings-body mind and soul.... the soul part flows from one life to the next-the human side is body and mind with all of our experiences from birth-everything we learn from parents,school,society.... is all conditioned thinking-inner peace comes from existing in the moment in your pure state-once you can do that you can have a more meaningful existance....the law of attraction to me works by what your beliefs are-if your self belief or self esteem is low you will ask the world for very little for yourself,if you grow your feelings to more self loving your world will change...i know this to be true for me and i have had a traumatic start in this life, but did not believe i was damaged goods forever... working through suffering deepens the soul.... an amazing book im reading at the mo is eckhart tolle's a new earth... its very profound xxx

Life is energy. It is continuous. To think we can end it is ludicrous. We can only change and hang on for the ride.

Life is also opportunistic. All life wishes to continue existence. It refuses the alternative. If it thinks it will GET the alternative, it is mislead.

Meaning is subjective, personal and relative.

It is a healthy person's "duty" to self and life to feel connected to life, and feel valid. It is important to learn just how powerful one is. What one can do. By learning that, one's life automatically becomes valid.

It is said that God experiences "himself" through his creations, including us. So pity the poor person who has to be an idiot or fool. We are lucky to play the compassionate and intelligent person. (ha!)

It is all down to attitude and motive. This is where freedom of choice enters. If we are being an idiot we cannot expect to feel that life is worth living eventually.

To treasure every moment here and now becomes the greatest gift that life bestows.
