Right, well, the best answer for being theatrical about the existence of god if you're scared about that, is to act the biggest scariest, most Spock-esque scientist you've ever met.

Positivists (not Positivismists...) were very excited about the idea of science being the new age of reason, and discarding the old order, namely the church and anything metaphysical (ie. anything that sounded magical) they were interested in cold hard facts, and not in some random information about how people feel. So when people talk about the existence of God, positivists would probably say something like, "Well, that's just how you feel, that you want a god to be alive because you don't want to face the fact that you're actually going to die. There is no evidence that God exists." To positivists, morality, feelings, etc., are just nonsense. In other words, they don't make any sense to the 'rational' side of us...maybe feelings are important, or maybe ethics is important, but both of these are still somewhat non-sensical. We don't need feelings or ethics to crunch numbers all day, even though these things might be interesting subjects for social sciences. What positivists really want is something they can prove, and therefore, even talking about our brains, or mental states, or anything that sounds like it might lead us down the path of making a theory about things we can't prove, the positivists are quite against.

Positivists are strict empiricists, and only admit into philosophical and scientific debate that which can be highly scrutinized with the senses.
